Competition Law
Although one could have the impression that competition law lost its relative importance following accession of the Slovak Republic to the European Union and transfer of a part of national competences to the European Commission, competition law remains an important legal area in the Slovak Republic. Increased investment leads to the need for approval of national concentrations by the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic ("AMO"). Our firm has the required experience in notifying concentrations to AMO and representing clients at this type of proceedings.
Two additional aspects of competition law should also be pointed out. These are the prohibition of agreements limiting competition (as well as exceptions from such prohibition), and the prohibition of abuse of dominant market position. We offer advice to our clients in both areas and represent our clients in the respective proceedings before AMO.
With respect to competition law, we provide the following services:
- guidance with respect to competition law
- representation with respect to notification of concentrations to AMO
- representation with respect to other proceedings before AMO
- drafting and commenting on contracts from the point of view of competition law
